Mark Carney’s India Visit: ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਾਰਕ ਜੇ. ਕਾਰਨੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਧੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦੇਸ਼ 2030 ਤੱਕ ਵਪਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ 50 ਬਿਲੀਅਨ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਡਾਲਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਣ ਦੇ ਟੀਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਓਟਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ (comprehensive economic partnership agreement) ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਰੂਪ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਟਿੱਪਣੀ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਮੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਪੀਐਮ ਮਾਰਕ ਕਾਰਨੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਪੀ ਐੱਮ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅੱਜ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਲੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੀ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਾਡਾ ਟੀਚਾ 2030 ਤੱਕ 50 ਬਿਲੀਅਨ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਣਾ ਹੈ। ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਾਡੀ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਰੂਪ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।”
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੇਖਾਂਕਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਮੌਕੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇਗਾ। ਪੀ ਐੱਮ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਪੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਫੰਡਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ 100 ਬਿਲੀਅਨ ਡਾਲਰ ਦਾ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਗੂ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਲਈ ਰੋਡਮੈਪ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਪੀਐਮ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਕਾਰਨੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਮੀਲ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਦੋਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਕਈ ਸਮਝੌਤਿਆਂ (MoUs) ਦਾ ਤਬਾਦਲਾ ਵੀ ਹੋਇਆ।(
