On September 26, 2025, US Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced an emergency action to restrict non-domiciled commercial learner’s permits (CLPs) and commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) due to a nationwide audit by the FMCSA and fatal crashes involving non-domiciled drivers. The rule, effective immediately, addresses loopholes and targets California for negligence. Non-citizens will now need an employment-based visa and a federal immigration status check via the SAVE system to obtain a non-domiciled CDL.

ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸਖਤ ਫੈਡਰਲ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਅਧੀਨ ਗੁਜਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਨੂੰ ਛੋਟ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।
