ਇਟਲੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਮਿਲਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਟਰਾਮ ਪਟੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਰ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ 2 ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 40 ਹੋਰ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ ਹਾਦਸਾ ਵਿਟੋਰੀਓ ਵੇਨੇਟੋ ’ਤੇ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਰਾਹਤ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਲਈ 13 ਐਂਬੂਲੈਂਸਾਂ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਸਿਵਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਸਥਾਨਕ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਏਟੀਐਮ (ATM) ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਬਿਆਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਟਰਾਮ ਪਟੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਤਰੀ।
Two Dead, Dozens Injured as Tram Derails in Central Milan
A devastating accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Milan, Italy, when a Line 9 tram derailed at high speed on Viale Vittorio Veneto. The tram veered off the tracks at a switch point, nearly flipping over before crashing into the facade of a building and a restaurant storefront.
Tragically, two people have been confirmed dead: one passenger inside the tram and a 60-year-old pedestrian who was struck on the street. Over 38 others have been injured, with several in serious condition. Emergency services, including dozens of ambulances and fire crews, rushed to the scene to rescue passengers trapped in the wreckage. Initial investigations suggest human error may be involved, as the driver reportedly failed to activate a track switch.
