According to a report by The Globe and Mail, India’s High Commissioner to Canada, Dinesh Patnaik, criticized the RCMP’s investigations into alleged Indian foreign interference in Canada, calling the allegations “fantasy.” He also reportedly questioned the credibility of Canadian intelligence agencies and suggested some accusations were politically motivated.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions between Canada and India over claims of foreign interference, Sikh activism, and the 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia. Canadian authorities have continued investigations into alleged links between Indian officials and criminal activities, while India denies the accusations.

ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਅਖਬਾਰ The Globe and Mail ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਇੱਕ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਟਨਾਇਕ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਸੀਸਸ (CSIS) ਸਿੱਖ ਵੱਖਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੇਠ ਆ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ “ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ” ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਲਈ ਅਧਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਖੁਫੀਆ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਸੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਿੱਝਰ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਿਆ-ਮੋੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ RCMP ਇੱਕ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਬੀਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਫੋਰਸ “ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੇਠ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।”
ਹੁਣ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਇਹ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਾਰਕ ਕਾਰਨੀ ਤੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ, ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵਟਿਵ ਅਤੇ ਐਨਡੀਪੀ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ CSIS ਅਤੇ RCMP ‘ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰਾਜਦੂਤ ਵਲੋਂ ਲਾਏ ਗਏ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਹਿਤਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਣਕਹੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
