ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਭਾਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਕੱਠ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ ਐੱਨਐੱਸਏ (NSA) ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਵਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਜਵਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇੱਕ ਅਪੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਦ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾਅਰੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
