ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੰਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਸਵੀਂ, ਆਲਮਗੀਰ ਵਿਖੇ 5 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਪਥਰਾਅ ਦੀ ਕਥਿਤ ਘਟਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਲੰਗਰ ਛਕਣ ਆਏ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਹਾਲ ਵੱਲ ਪੱਥਰ ਸੁੱਟੇ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਿਆਂ ਸੰਹਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 298 ਤਹਿਤ FIR ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇੜੇ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਝੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਵੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਾਅਵਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਹਾਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੈਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਅਫ਼ਵਾਹਾਂ, ਗੁੰਮਰਾਹਕੁੰਨ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ AI ਨਾਲ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ੀ ਵੀਡੀਓਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਆਮ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ।
Police in Ludhiana have registered an FIR against five individuals following an alleged stone-pelting incident at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib, Alamgir, on October 5.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj condemned the incident and demanded strict legal action. Meanwhile, allegations concerning the burning of nearby migrant shelters have emerged, although the gurdwara management denies responsibility.
The SGPC has urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims, misleading photographs or AI-generated videos
ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੰਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਸਵੀਂ, ਆਲਮਗੀਰ ਦੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਹਾਲ ’ਤੇ ਇੱਟਾਂ-ਰੋੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਕਥਿਤ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਬਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਸਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਸੇਧ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਅਮਨ-ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਲਈ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨਿਕ ਢਿੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਚੁੱਕਦਿਆਂ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਅਣਗਹਿਲੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਆਏ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਭੈਅ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ।”
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ (ਐੱਸ.ਜੀ.ਪੀ.ਸੀ.) ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਕੱਤਰ, ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਾਪੜ੍ਹੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਜਾਇਜ਼ ਕਬਜ਼ਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਠੱਲ੍ਹ ਪਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਤਹਿਤ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਤੇ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਲੰਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਦਾ ਛਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਲੇਕਿਨ ਉਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਧਾੜਵੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।”
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ‘ਤੇ ਏ.ਆਈ. (AI) ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਮਨਘੜ੍ਹਤ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਅਫ਼ਵਾਹਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰੇਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੰਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਸਵੀਂ, ਆਲਮਗੀਰ ਦੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਹਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ਰਾਰਤੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਟਾਂ-ਰੋੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਕਰੜੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਆਖੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੰਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਸਵੀਂ, ਆਲਮਗੀਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ, ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਵੇਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਭਿਜਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਖਾਲੀ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਅਮਨ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਲਈ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਸਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਸੇਧ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।
ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਅਣਗਹਿਲੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਆਏ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਭੈਅ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਾਪੜ੍ਹੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਖਾਸਕਰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਬੇਸ਼ਕੀਮਤੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ।
ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਤਹਿਤ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਤੇ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਲੰਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਦਾ ਛਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੱਕ ਐਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਲੇਕਿਨ ਉਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਧਾੜਵੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਿਆਂ ਏ-ਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਠੀਕ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਇਹ ਸੰਜੀਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਲਤ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਨੂੰ ਖਰਾਬ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਕਿ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਲਈ ਹੋਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਏ-ਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਘੜ੍ਹਤ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਵੀ ਵਾਜਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਵਰਤਾਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰੇਜ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ।

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj Condemns Attack on Alamgir Gurdwara, Seeks Strict Action Against Miscreants
– Orders issued to SGPC to correspond with government and take action against illegal encroachments near Gurdwaras
Sri Amritsar, October 8
Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, has strongly condemned the attack with bricks and stones by some miscreants at the langar hall of the historic Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Patshahi Dasvin, Alamgir, in Ludhiana district, and called for strict action against those responsible.
He said that, according to the information received, the management of Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Patshahi Dasvin, Alamgir, along with local Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) members and Sikh leaders, had initiated legal action against the accused, resulting in their arrest and the accused getting jailed, besides getting the encroachments vacated. However, he said the mindset behind the incident was a matter of serious concern for peace and communal harmony in Punjab. He said the state government should immediately take cognisance of the issue and ensure that no outsider is allowed to make illegal encroachments in Punjab, the sacred land of the Sikh Gurus.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said the incident reflected a major lapse on the part of the Ludhiana district administration, as people from outside were occupying valuable land without fear of the law. He said it was the administration’s primary responsibility to prevent such illegal encroachments.
He said a comprehensive report on the matter had been sought from the SGPC, and directions had been issued to write to the Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner and Police Commissioner to ensure strict action. He further said the SGPC had also been directed to correspond with the Chief Secretary of Punjab Government to ensure that no one is allowed to illegally occupy or establish settlements on valuable lands near any Gurdwaras, particularly historic Gurdwaras, in Punjab.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said Gurdwaras, following the principle of Sarbat da Bhala (welfare of all), serve Guru ka Langar to every person, including the needy and poor, and this tradition would continue for generations to come. However, he said, if anyone attacks such a place like an aggressor, the Sikh community would never tolerate it.
He also said that some people were creating AI-generated images and circulating them on social media in connection with the incident, which was inappropriate. He said the matter was serious and any misinformation could disturb the atmosphere in Punjab. Therefore, he appealed to Sikhs to ensure that technology was used for positive purposes. He said creating and circulating fabricated images through AI was completely unjustified and urged everyone to refrain from such practices.
Police in Ludhiana have registered an FIR against five individuals following an alleged stone-pelting incident at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib, Alamgir, on October 5.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj condemned the incident and demanded strict legal action. Meanwhile, allegations concerning the burning of nearby migrant shelters have emerged, although the gurdwara management denies responsibility.
